چکیده

Distribution networks frequently experience cross-country failures (CCFs).This study presents research that demonstrates how Cross-Correlation may be used to extract distinctive features from faulty current signals, hence providing a threshold-based technique for fault identification. The most challenging aspect of dealing with HIF syndrome-related CCFs is recognizing and categorizing them. In this research, the complex, aperiodic, asymmetric, nonlinear signals generated by CCF syndrome were recovered using Cross Correlation method. low frequencies are filtered out high pass filter, leaving only positive peak two negative peaks in vicinity as unique correlogram. work, proposed approach put test on modified imbalanced IEEE 240 Bus system. suggested method assessed through lens several different case studies, such switching capacitor bank, reactor string, load, feeder, effects power swing, loads, lightly laden conditions, measurement noise. normal can distinguished their normalized QRS levels. By selecting appropriate sensors Jellyfish optimization method, we also able ascertain which bus housed CCHIF.

Cross Entropy-Based High-Impedance Fault Detection Algorithm for Distribution Networks

The low fault current of high-impedance faults (HIFs) is one of the main challenges for the protection of distribution networks. The inability of conventional overcurrent relays in detecting these faults results in electric arc continuity that it causes the fire hazard and electric shock and poses a serious threat to human life and network equipment. This paper presents an HIF detection algori...

High Impedance Fault Detection On Distribution Feeders

The ability to detect High Impedance (HiZ) faults has been a topic of research and development for over 30 years. About seven years ago, products began to appear on the market that could securely perform this function. Over this time period, several hundred HiZ detection devices have been placed in service and have performed to expectations. This paper reviews the operating principle of HiZ fau...

High impedance fault detection in power distribution networks using time–frequency transform and probabilistic neural network

An intelligent approach for high impedance fault (HIF) detection in power distribution feeders using advanced signal-processing techniques such as time–time and time–frequency transforms combined with neural network is presented. As the detection of HIFs is generally difficult by the conventional over-current relays, both time and frequency information are required to be extracted to detect and...

Feature extraction method for high impedance ground fault localization in radial power distribution networks

A new approach to the localization of high impedance ground faults in compensated radial power distribution networks is presented. The total size of such networks is often very large and a major part of the monitoring of these is carried out manually. The increasing complexity of industrial processes and communication systems lead to demands for improved monitoring of power distribution network...
